A Letter To The John McCain

Dear Senator McCain

Boy, I was pulling for you. I thought this nation would be greatly rewarded for having a man of your caliber in the White House. I thought nations abroad would run to talk because they knew you weren’t afraid to fight. I thought our budget would be safe because you would actually reform Washington. I knew I would be proud of a real American Hero becoming President.

This is not a failure. The American people spoke and it was no real reflection on you. It was anger at the Bush Administration. It was the promise of change from Barack Obama. It was America’s way of healing and in your classy concession speech, you made me proud to be your supporter.

I will continue to teach my daughter of your sacrifice, in hopes that one day she will give service to the country that has given us so much. This election was not only a lesson of the growth of America, it was also a look back into history on how many people gave so much to allow us to get to this point. How you gave so much to allow Barack Obama to be raised if a free country where anything is possible?

So indeed he nor I would be here if it weren’t for men like you. You will be a hero of mine forever. No matter what the future holds for you, I will carry a piece of you with me always. The want and need to fight for this country. Thank You.

A Letter to Black Barack Obama Supporters

To my Black People

Yesterday, you came out in droves to elect the first black president. You volunteered and knocked on doors because you really wanted change. Or did you?

I had to be gracious to Barack Obama but you will not be that lucky. This is what I got out of yesterday. I went to the polls and watched as black people called other black people and told them to get up and go to the polls. It excited me so much, I almost drunk the Kool-Aid. I loved the feeling of standing in that line watching the numbers increase. I thought we can actually make change.

You may be saying to yourself, how can you blast us, we won. To that I say, Are you saying we had the power to make an impact this entire time and we just didn’t? For years we have been complaining that there is no place for black people in our government and you believed it.

Someone else had to come along and give you that dream. We are still in trouble. Barack Obama will only be president for a term or two. After he fades, will the change message fade with him?

You don’t even get it do you. See, those excuses you use will become publically nonvalid. Tongues will loosen when talking about race because a major barrier will be gone. I will be one of the first. Martin Luther King Jr. would not be proud of you. He would be proud of Barack Obama, but not of you.

See, he had a dream that one day a man would not be judged on his color. You take that to mean black people will be accepted. I take it to mean, we have to let go of our own prejudices. I understand the pride you feel today. I feel it too. But if your sole reason for voting was the color of Barack Obama’s skin, then we still have a long way to go.

I do have hope though. As I watched Obama’s victory speech, I gained a little respect for him. We actually think alot a like. We agree that this is just the first step. Change will not come just because we have a black President. It will only come when you start taking the first steps.

Please tell me you will not let him down. Please tell me you won’t take the hope you have today and let it fade when the times continue to be tough. Please tell me you will look at the next black man on the street and think of him as a brother, not as a threat. Please tell me you will go back to school because now your dreams are limitless.

Or will you take this victory, with reverence, until next time you need an excuse. I’ve been saying all along that the excuses in the black community are only figments of imagination. I’ve been saying all along, you can do anything you put your mind too.

For my efforts, I get hate and excuses as to why I’m wrong. Today, your right to preach hate because someone dreams big, is null and void. And I couldn’t be happier. My only mistakes was telling you to believe in yourself and not giving you a black face to believe in.

I can guarantee you will not be rich just because Obama is President. I can guarantee the ghetto’s will not get better just because Obama is President. I can guarantee financial stability will not come to our neighborhoods just because Obama is President.

It will come because we get out in numbers like we did on election day. If we put the faith in ourselves that Obama has in us, we can move mountains. It’s not enough that we have the first black President, if we don’t do something with the opportunity. If we wait for answers to our problems to fall out of the sky, this will be all in vain.

Oh yeah, your vote wasn’t enough. Understand that. Yes, black people came out in huge numbers to vote for Obama but so did alot of white people. Another one of your excuses crushed. No white person wants to see a black person elected; How wrong you were. Make sure you take that with you to your job interview. America cares less about color. We care about always moving forward.

With your vote and excitement, the criticism will only get worse. White people who still carry hatred will have ammunition if we let down Barack Obama. If we continue as we were after voting for change, it wil be an impossible arguement to win. If we have a black President, why are still complaining about inequality?

Is there still a need for affirmative action or is the playing field level? Why are all these groups allowed to exist that only cater to one race, aren’t we past that? Aren’t the laws fair because they are governed by a black man? Why are you still complaining about cops out to get you?

How will you answer these questions? Will you find any and every excuse to keep your excuse relevant? I really like that sentence. Will you find any and every excuse to keep your excuse relevant? Or will this be the day you say, nothing can stop me?

Please let this be the day you say, Barack Obama did it, and I can do it too. I hope in four years our arguments will be on issues not on color. Congratulations. You did it and I expect so much out of you in the future.

A Letter To President Elect Barack Obama

Dear President Elect Obama

You did it. Whoa. I can do nothing but congratulate you on your success. You showed everyone how an election could be won fighting for every vote. Tomorrow, I will once again become your critic, but today, Today I will Love your efforts and my country.

I disagree with you greatly on policy. But that is a single voice drowned out by the Millions that seek change. I can not and will not fight that. You campaigned hard, gave the people hope, and they came out in droves to elect you to the highest office in the land.

Your impact on history is nothing more than outstanding. My daughter will one day teach her children about your success. And I am so grateful for that. Black men and women got excited about the political process and for that I’m thankful.

You are my president too. And I look forward to watching you write history.

Who Is Really Going To Get A Tax Cut?

Will the Obama camp ever get a real number on what’s considered rich?

We haven’t heard anything else about taxes being raised on those making $97,500. But Bill Richards has gotten it to go a little lower.

Trust! If you vote Obama, your taxes will go up. And those are not my words.

Bringing Politics to the Streets: Would You Trust Obama?

Barack Obama is a master politician. I will give him every bit of credit he rightfully deserves. He has managed to string together a campaign with no actual question on the man himself. I don’t know if any other politician in our history could have accomplished this, at least not after the invent of Radio, Television, and the Internet.

I watched Bill O’Reily last night before my Radio Show (Check it out if you haven’t). He made a really interesting comment. “I haven’t been able to find a single media person that knows Barack Obama.” O’Reily seems to think the only person who really knows Barack Obama is Michelle Obama. With that, I give Michelle Obama kudos.

But that leaves the rest of us to try and figure out the character of this man, possibly the next President of the United States of America.

I want to make a special request of my readers today. Today I want you to make sure you bring your street smarts with you. Don’t leave them at the door. Take the lessons you have learned in your lifetime and apply them to what I’m about to say. Oh Yeah, In this comparison, I’m only using examples.

You are on your block and a new guy shows up. No one knows who he is or where he came from. No one will personally vouch for him, even though they swoon over his clothes or his car. Would you invite him into your inner circle?

Then he sends out a text message and tells everyone in the neighborhood, I need you to make people believe I fit in. See, it’s hard for me to even continue with this because I know your block would start to talk. I know the red flag would start to go up and this man would not be accepted.

But let me continue. Your cousin from a different block comes and says, Hey I know that guy. He was friends with the guy that snitched on Big Tony. Would you allow him to stay in your inner circle? (I don’t believe in not snitching. If you see a child murdered in front of your eyes and you don’t speak up, you are just as culpable as the one that pulled the trigger)

If that wasn’t enough, your girl comes to you and says, Hey I know that guy. He protested with us about Hoopers. You know that store that was hiking up all the prices on eggs, milk and bread. Then he turned around and made a deal to get reduced prices for his friends store, while the neighborhood still had to deal with the high prices at Hoopers. Would he still be in your inner circle?

You and the new dude are riding around in his car. You get pulled over and the cop walks to the car, sees who it is and says he’s going to let you go. You sit and think to yourself, if it were me, I would be laying on the ground while my car was being searched. Would you start to question this guy?

So, now the new guy feels comfortable enough, he decides to move into the neighborhood. Your entire neighborhood is fighting against the owner because they refuse to fix any problems. Your heat doesn’t work, your water comes out black, and the roaches won’t quit. He goes to this man and all of a sudden he gets the best house on the block and then they condemn the land behind it, giving him more property. Are the questions about this man beginning to pile up?

One of this Guys’ closest friends moves into the neighborhood shortly after he does. His friend starts a campaign to shut down public housing and build new houses, no matter the cost. Everyone in the neighborhood says, wait, you are going to far. We don’t want our entire neighborhood destroyed, we just want some improvements to be made. But his friend will not budge. So, the new guys tells everyone, I no longer like this guy because he wants to tear down this neighborhood. If he was your friend before this, why are you so quick to cut him off and what does that say you will do to me if I have an unpopular opinion. Would you really trust a friend like that?

News Alert flash on Television, Radio, and word of mouth. A guy blows up the local radio station claiming they don’t play enough Jay Z songs on air. He had planned to set the fuse when the building was empty but there were still 5 people inside. No one was hurt. The guy that blows up the building is the same guy that helped the new guy move into his new house. So everyone wants to talk to the new guy to find out about the guy that blew up the radio station. The new guy says, he just helped me move, I don’t know him personally. Then comes the next new flash, an old commercial where the new guy was advertising for the bomber. On top of that, you find out the new guy also worked at the company with the bomber. They even worked together on moving certain houses. Would you call this guy a liar?

The new guy does make a new friend in the neighborhood. The only problem with that, it’s the guy that everyone in the neighborhood already calls a sell out. Nobody likes this guy because he doesn’t stick to the politics of the street. He goes out and supports the people who supposedly systematically destroys the image of what a black man should be. Does this man vouching for the new guy make you change your mind?

The new guy decides he’s going to get married. So all the women in the neighborhood rush to meet the new women. She tells all the females, you are all mean and give me no reason to be a proud black woman. You know that woman would get stumped out fast. I’ll show you how mean we are. And when she tried to restructure the sentence, she wouldn’t have a chance because no one would give a damn about what she had to say. Do you limit your time around certain dudes because their girlfriends are stuck up?

How much more do you need? One more, O.K. here it goes. There is a group of both white and black people who hate interracial people. If you are black, your fine. If you are white, your fine. But if you are a mixture of the two, you are a disgrace. The leader of this group is a personal friend of the new guy. He often praises his efforts, even allows him to baby sit his kids. When the mixed people stand up and say, wait, why would you support someone that blatantly points hate in our direction? The new guy says, there are more important issues at hand than how you feel. Would that be enough to break the camel’s back, so to speak.

The Point

If this were any other man, except Barack Obama, you would have serious reservations about him. F that. You would not give him the time of day. He would not be invited to your home because you wouldn’t trust why he wanted to be there. He would not be invited into your community because you know he doesn’t really care about that community, only what he can get out of it. You would not vouch for him with the people you know because you know that if something goes wrong, all eyes will point back at you.

Why would you forget everything you’ve learned to advance someone else? Instead, why not forget all the reasons they say you can’t make it and make some advances for yourself?

Now, let me fill in the blanks on some of the examples from above. I’ll try to stay in order, so you can get the reference.

The streets are always talking and when the New Guy, Barack Obama, shows up, it’s no exception. The only difference is you look at his color and placement and you want to cheer for him. When on the streets, you make a man prove his worth and when he fails to do so, he is ostracized. We all know that trust should not be easily given. Why forget that when going to the polls?

If a man went to the biggest drug dealers on the block and said, I want take your influence to let everyone know I fit in. The dealers would laugh at him. You don’t get to come up in here and ride my coat tails with out me benefitting. They might respect the fact that he was willing to lay all his cards on the table in the approach. But best believe, they won’t increase someone else’s popularity without knowing if that person intended on taking the dealers position. So the new guy ends up oweing the dealers for his success.

Barack Obama in a nutshell. He wrote in ‘Dreams of my Father’, to paraphrase, I picked my friends so I wouldn’t seem like a sell out. He picked Rev. Wright, Rev. Fleager, Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko, and Rashid Khalidi so you wouldn’t think he was a sell out. What does that say about what he thinks of you? He picked the most radical people he could associate himself with because he thought you would approve.

Do you approve? Would you still approve in the drug dealer scenario? If he thought to win your hearts and minds all he had to do was win over the drug dealers. Would you advise him to carry on? If that answer is yes, what are you saying about black people?

The Barack Obama campaign has done a wonderful job in telling you associations don’t matter. But you know better than to believe that. If you associate with drug dealers on the street, the police pay more attention to you. If you associate with gangs, rival gangs will target you. If you associate with the church, you are holier than thou, you know what I mean. Associations do matter. If you want to find the character of a man, seek out the people he surrounds himself with.

Campaign Finance- Barack Obama was on the side of public finance. Meaning, each candidate has the same amount of money, giving each an equal opportunity in the election. So while he complains about people having to much money, he decides he wants to be one of those people. Instead of a level playing field, he chose to out raise and out spend. Think about that when you praise how much money this man is making. McCain took public financing.

The Media- The media is supposed to be the force pushing fairness. It’s purpose is to inform the American people of everything that is going on, not just the news that supports a candidate they favor. So when that police officer pulls over the new guy but let’s him go with no question. How does that make you feel. Knowing damn well they would paste your face all over the news for something you have done. Are you questioning why Barack Obama is the only black man that goes unopposed by the media?

Tony Rezko- Barack Obama’s comrad in Chicago. He is now a convicted felon. So while Barack Obama is a community organizer, he is also getting benefiting from a slum lord. Rezko found Barack Obama land to purchase under market value and then bought the adjacent lot so it couldn’t be built on, thus increasing the property value of Obama’s home. Think about that. He’s benefiting from the same person that would refuse to fix your plumbing, heating, or insect problem. Where are the questions? I forgot to mention that Obama actually spoke up for Rezko.

Rev. Wright- O.K., you sit in a church for 20 years with a pastor that married you and baptized your two children. You tell the world he is your spiritual advisor and how he helped shape the man you have become. When the public catches wind of what that pastor may have actually taught you and cause an uproar, you act as though you just met the man. Come on people. Rev. Wright was a hero until the American people questioned him. Barack Obama cuts him off and the masses follow suit. When Rev. Wright openly says Barack Obama is doing nothing more than playing politics, everyone magically starts to blame Wright. What makes you think he wouldn’t throw you under the bus if it suits him? We want to blame white people for slavery, even though it was black people that sold us to the slave traders.

Bill Ayers- An unrepentant terrorist who still hates America. He didn’t bomb building abroad. He bombed the Pentagon, police stations in New York, and several members of his group killed themselves trying to make more bombs. Barack Obama writes a blurb in his book. Then he says, they are trying to scare you about me. Hell, yeah. I’m scared. Not because you associate with Ayers but because you continuously lie about it. “He was just a guy in my neighborhood.” Why not mention with your own mouth, I also sat on a board with him. Why make the public have to seek out the information, unless you have something to hide. If someone you just met forgets to tell you he’s friends with someone that he knows doesn’t like you, how long would that person be your friend?

Colin Powell- I have nothing but respect for Colin Powell. I’ve used him for years as example of what could happen to a black man that joins the military. Most black people called him a sellout. That was before he chose to support Obama. I can remember all the conversations where people totally bashed Powell. Now, he is the example. Now he is throw out every second by the Obama campaign. Why is Powell now a hero. If you didn’t like him before, why are you cheering for him now. Do you think he may have picked the candidate that would make him appear less of a sell out? (I really don’t want to question Powell’s endorsement. He has every right to make any decision he chooses. And I will continue to hold him in high esteem.)

Michelle Obama- I do love the attitude of this woman. As a black woman, she sets a wonderful example. Anyone that finds a man, love that man, and have that man love you back they way her and Obama do, it’s wonderful. I hope all the women reading this learn that lesson. Find that one that makes you complete. But I do have beef with her. “Americans are down right mean.” “This is the first time I’ve been proud of my country.” And you wonder why they pulled her off the campaign trail. If she would’ve continued to show her personality instead of becoming a talking point specialist, I would’ve added her to this list. Would you trust a dude’s girl you know doesn’t like you but pretends she does? Or could you respect her for telling you the truth because you at least know where she’s coming from? Because that’s me.

Rashid Khalidi- Former member of the PLO. There are even pictures of him throwing rocks into Israel. Now Hamas and Iran have endorsed Obama and he’s friends with Khalidi. I fear for Israel. I don’t understand why they don’t have the right to be a peaceful country. Every country won land in War. If we allow Israel to lose it’s sovereignty what right would we have to keep Texas or California. What’s even funnier, Obama is dominating the Jewish Vote. I just don’t understand.

I know I’m getting long winded, so I’m going to stop. I ljust really want people to take a look at the only source you have to judge the character of Barack Obama, his associations. Yes, he can give one hell of a speech but is that really enough for you?

Who’s Your Friend? The Keating Five and Bill Ayers

The campaign is really beginning to heat up. With Barack Obama leading in the national polls, it’s time for the gloves to come off. The heat up started after the outstanding performance by Governor Sarah Palin at the V.P. debates. And neither campaign in stepping down.

McCain’s campaign began to bring up Barack Obama’s ties to Bill Ayers. And in response, Barack Obama brought up McCain’s ties to the Keating Five. Now comes the comparison of Character. Should we take a look?

The People Involved

McCain and the Keating Five- Charles H. Keating Jr. was the owner of American Continental Corp. One of it’s subsidaries was Lincoln Savings and Loans. The shit hit the fan in 1987. The federal government had Keating under investigation for defrauding bond holders. 23,000 people lost most of their life savings, including many elderly. The Keating Five consisted of Four Democrats, Alan Cranston (CA), Dennis DeConcini (AZ), John Glen (OH) and Donald Riegle (MI), and one Republican John McCain (AZ).

Obama and Bill Ayers- Bill Ayers was a member of the Radical Group, the Weather Underground, in the 1960′s. They were made famous when they bombed the Pentagon. Then Ayers went on to found the CAC, The Chicago Annenberg Challenge, were Barack Obama held affiliation from 1995-2001. A group that lobbies for more liberal teaching in Public Schools. To this day, Bill Ayers holds no remorse for bombing the country he calls home.

Were They Really Involved

McCain was friends with Keatings. That was never in dispute. Before the S&L debacle, Keating was a major contributor to the McCain Campaign. McCain even vacationed at Keating’s place in the Bahamas on Keatings’ dime. When Keating called on Senators to help him with the probe of Lincoln Savings and Loans, McCain showed up. McCain stated that he wanted to make sure one of his constituents was not being treating unfairly by over regulation.

Bill Ayers founded the Group CAC, and Barack Obama was it’s leader. Is that enough to link Ayers to Obama? Just think about this. If you founded a company that handed Millions of Dollars to organizations in your state, would you play a role in picking the leader of your company? There are CAC Archives in the Richard J. Daley Library at the University of Illinois at Chicago that would point at Obama and Ayers being partners in the growth of the CAC.

The Outcome

John McCain refused to speak to regulators on Keatings’ behalf. Leading Keating to call McCain a wimp. Keating came to McCain with a laundry list of demands and McCain told Keating he was only there to make sure Keating was being treated fairly and nothing else. The Senate Ethics committee found no wrong doing for McCain. He was tacked with “poor judgement”. McCain later wrote a book that called the debacle the asterisk on his career.

It’s hard to write these things about Barack Obama. The media has made the story a none issue and it’s hard to find information about the subject. All I can say. The CAC is still giving money to Acorn and Barack Obama uses Acorn to maximise minority voter registration. So there are still ties between Obama and Ayers, even if you put another company in the middle.

The Character

McCain never once said, “I don’t know Keating.” He never said, “I played no part in this scandal.” He even wrote a book detailing his role in the whole debacle. He even notes, “That’s what made we work so hard towards reforming our government.” It also struck me that McCain was the lone Republican in this matter. Even when he was young and stupid, he went across party lines. That has to say something for the man’s character.

Obama said, “Ayers is just some guy from my neighborhood.” Obama has written two books with no mention on Ayers or his time at the CAC. Most of the work he did there is left up to interpretation. We know he handled the money. And when educational groups came to this educational reform body asking for money to help with Math and Science programs they were turned down. The cause wasn’t liberal enough. So math and science isn’t as important as teaching minorities to continue to protest against the government. So for 6 years Obama sat on a Board with Ayers and claims he doesn’t know him.

The Point

Sarah Palin is ushering in a new type of Politician. In the past you had to be connected to established members of a Party to be considered eligible to run for office. You had to have the backing of certain money men and the influence of present and former Politicians. So you can’t actually blame Obama or McCain for some of their acquaintances. You have to play the game to get into the action.

Having said that, your connection to the acquaintances are fair game. I thinks it’s reprehensible that when trying to bring up the matter of character, race is thrown into the equation. If you want to question Barack Obama’s affiliations, then you are a racist. If you want to question his decision making, then you are a racist. If you want to know anything about Barack Obama that he hasn’t said himself, then you are a racist.

Well the truth of the matter. If Barack Obama had came out and said, “Yes, Ayers was once a terrorist but now he has mended his ways. Since serving with him, I’ve learned alot. Whether I agree with his tactics or not.” He knew the American People would roast him alive. See, it doesn’t matter if Ayers bombed the Pentagon 20 years ago. He still bombed the Pentagon and the American People are not that forgiving. So instead of taking the bumps that go with the decisions you’ve made, you deny there ever was a connection. And the media follows suit.

Another Point

When McCain brings up Reverend Wright, what will Obama’s response be? To link McCain to Pat Robinson or John Hagee? The truth again will get distorted. McCain was never a member of either Pastor’s church. Not like Obama who spent 20 years, a marriage and two baptismals in Trinity United Church of Christ. Not to mention the fact that Obama said he never heard anything hateful from his Pastor. Does this hit on character?

Or does it mean the Rev. Wright waited until Barack Obama started to run for President before beginning to spout all his non sense. I don’t think so. Rev. Wright was one of Barack Obama’s most avid supporters. Wright even said, Obama is playing politics when it comes to denouncing Trinity. And I wonder why Obama didn’t leave when Oprah left. I mean she’s one of his biggest supporters today, why is there no questioning of why she left. It couldn’t be she didn’t like sitting in a church where the Pastor damned the country that made her a Billionaire, could it? So if Oprah heard the hate speech and left, why didn’t Barack Obama hear it. I’m just saying.

Sarah Palin and Joe Biden Debate

I didn’t get to watch the debate in real time. I was a guest on the Specta Show @ 100radio.com. Check it out.

But I did stay up to watch the replay. I think it’s real important that you watch yourself and not get clips from a News Show. They get to pick what they think is important and you don’t get to catch the little nuiances.

Gwen Ifil has to be given credit for her performance. It’s refreshing to see a moderator with known bias towards a candidate act in a non partisan manner. Many of the pundits on television predicted that she would be fair, but I think she was more than fair. She did her job. She was fair and balanced.

“Can I call you Joe?”

Sarah Palin had a lot of expectations to meet in this Debate. I was actually kinda scared for her. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I really like this women. Especially when she started talking about Personal Responsibility. I supported her in the past because she sounded a lot like me. Loved sports. Picked politics because she knew that’s where she could make changes. And had a good man to help her along the way.

Joe Biden did impress me at moments as well. I loved the way he laughed with Palin. He let his personality show. You could see he was shocked and impressed with Palin’s performance during the debate. You often saw him smiling when she made a point or he got the joke she told. He hit back but he enjoyed the debate. I don’t think Obama would match up well with Palin in a Debate.

I think they both failed when they started pointing fingers. It was Bush’s policy that got us in this mess. We should thank John McCain for sounding the bell two years ago. The truth is Barack Obama won a case for Acorn that forced the government to give more of these shaky loans. And McCain may have spoken up two years ago but how loud was his voice. If he’s a real maverick, this would have been the main focus since the beginning of the campaign. So every single person in the U.S. should stop pointing fingers and do their individual part in bringing back our economy.

Let’s talk about Foriegn Policy

In this effort, I think Joe Biden failed. He didn’t knock her out of the box. She held her own with a man that’s been in the Senate for 36 years. Joe Biden was so busy making the little mistakes the media gives him passes on, he didn’t show he knew any more than Palin. In fact, if Sarah Palin had made a few of the mistakes Biden did, the whole subject of this discussion would be different. She would once again be unfit to be a heatbeat away from the Presidency.

All Biden did was show people even the most seasoned politician makes mistakes. But what I don’t understand is why they are given a pass. If the C.E.O. of a company can’t put together coherent thoughts without mistakes, I don’t think the people of that company would have a lot of faith in him. I think that should go double for a man or woman who has a voice in making public policy. I’m just saying.

Why did Joe Biden get upset when Sarah Palin talked about speaking with Henry Kissinger? Obama brought his name up in the first Presidential Debate. But when Palin name drops, Biden had an “Oh Please” look on his face. Does his name only hold credence when used to explain why Barack Obama would sit down with Ahmadinejad with out preconditions? It couldn’t be Politics could it?

The body blows came when Sarah Palin gave her respect to Joe Biden. It’s hard to argue with someone when they are praising your personal decisions. It was Biden’s task to uplift Obama but he had said so many things while campaigning against Obama, Palin came loaded with ammunition. I respected you when you said “The presidency doesn’t lend itself to on the job training.” Those were your words. And Biden couldn’t destroy his own persona to protect Barack Obama’s; so he found himself double talking his way out of comparisons. I love body blows.

Both did well in their own way. So what decides who wins? This is my blog, so let me tell you what I think. They say Sarah Palin can speak likes she’s an average American. I laughed to myself because I don’t know many Americans that say “Gee Willikers” or how ever you spell it. So what I did was insert my own slang into her funny words. “Joe, get up off that mess. McCain isn’t Bush. I’m not Cheney. You playin yourself with the comparison.” Now that wouldn’t win many votes, but if translated properly then you would get the point. She uses that Alaska talk, I guess, but it means the same thing some of us believe. We just find her choice of words funny.

So I say, Congratulations Palin and Biden. Sarah Palin gave John McCain a pass to fight another day. Joe Biden didn’t give Barack Obama a reason to regret his V.P. With less than a month to go, I think this is just the beginning of the the most interesting portion of the campaign. For the most part, the V.P. picks have played their parts and now it’s up the the Head of the Ticket.

The next debate is Tuesday night. I hope McCain and Obama put on a show like Biden and Palin.

Just Do Your Damn Job! Barack Obama and John McCain

I was sitting this morning trying to relate this subject to a story. You know write some fairy tale scenerio that would cause you to relate the gravity of the situation at hand. But instead I decided to go straight out because this is not the time to be playing around.

As you know, I am against the Bail Out. I don’t think rewarding companies with a clean slate is the way to impose reform of any sector of our Country. But I am not in a position to make decisions and it seems the bill will pass; whether I agree or not.

So that makes you take a look at the people that are in power. Our Elected Officials. Now I’m not one to question Bernanke on financial policy. But I do think the Fed has a more important job than meddling in the Private Market. With a dollar already hitting lows, that’s where his focus should be.

Nor could I question Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson on his knowledge of world finance. But as a citizen I do have the right to question handing him a blank check. Especially with all the bureaucracy that occurs in the United States. How much would actually make it to the banks instead of the men that got us into the position at hand?

The President of the United States George Bush gives a speech; trying to explain the need for this bail out. I watched the speech. I wasn’t impressed but I can understand the pressure on the President. With all the head money men in the country clamoring for a solution; the desire for action must be strong. He has to do some thing.

Every member of Congress. Not just those who don’t have a national campaign to run. Every Member of Congress should be doing their jobs.

When John McCain annouced he would be suspending his campaign to go to Washington, of course I thought Political ploy. But when Barack Obama came out and said that he had people there to handle the situation for him, it hit me. Who are you working for?

Both Senators had a chance to give up their Senate seat before campaigning began. They both choose to remain Senators. They both are still getting paid by the American People to do a job. This is the time to do your damn job or sign your paycheck back to the people of your state. They did not elect you to have Harry Reid tell you what’s best. Or Nancy Pelosi to let you know every thing is good. The People elected you to be on the Senate floor fighting for them.

If this is the Pearl Harbor of our Economy, then you are supposed to be using your big stick; not listening to second hand reports of the situation. Just imagine if Bush were in Saudi Arabia when this crisis hit and he told the American People, “I got people to handle that for me. I’m going to continue my business here and if I’m needed to sign a bill; I’ll catch a plane.”

The Democrats would lose their damn minds. He’s over there with his friends the Saudi’s instead of here taking care of the American People. Well, here’s a thought. Barack Obama, we have a President. You may not like him but that is irrelevant. We also have 100 U.S. Senators. You are one of them. And until you get enough votes to become President, you should act as such.

We are all mad at C.E.O.’s that didn’t do their job. They let other people deal with the mess, while they reaped the benefits. They allowed people to tell them every thing is O.K., so their bonuses were heavy. Well, we are in the middle of a economic crisis and that usually gives Democrats a boost. Donations for Barack Obama should be up during this time. And he doesn’t want to suspend his campaign because their are people keeping him a breast of the situation. He doesn’t want to deal with the mess but he doesn’t mind benefiting from it.

As long as he can sign his name on the bill, he can claim to have helped the situation. He doesn’t have to be the one that fights, he can just be the one that signed. Then he said he wouldn’t help the situation by bringing presidential politics into the debate in Congress. Suspend your campaign. Stop being a candidate for President and Just Be A U.S. Senator. Don’t bring politics into it. Just keep the American People at the center of your reason for being.

Or does this pose a problem for you? Is your desire to become President more important than the postion the people of Chicago gave you? If you do become President, can I count on Reid and Pelosi running your administration, while you give hope to the American People? Is the change you promise giving more power to the people around you, instead of your beliefs and ideals? Will you fight for the American People? Or will you fight for the image that is Barack Obama?

All I ask. Do your damn job. When you can break away to campaign, do so. If you still want to debate, ask for a change of subject. Why would you want to talk about Foreign Policy when every one is focusing on the economy? Or are you scared you would lose in foreign policy so you would love to have this debate over shadowed by the economy? Are you playing politics? Is this the time?

Al Sharpton Says Race Won’t Decide The Election

I never thought the day would come. Al Sharpton temporarilay put down his race card and started making sense. He is starting a National Bus Tour to make sure that Voter’s know the rules of their states. There have been alot of changes in the Election Laws and it’s very important that you know if they affect you.

Some states now require you to register at least thirty days before the election.

Some states require you to have two forms of I.d. Valid Drivers’ License and Voter Card.

Make sure you know the rules of Provisional Ballots in your state. If there is a problem when you go to vote, they will give you a provisional ballot. This does not mean you voted. It means they could possibly count your vote, if needed. It’s up to you to correct the problem, to make sure your vote is counted.

Many states have early ballots. If you know who you want to vote for, then this is a way to help their campaign. Voting early could eliminate the need for your candidate to spend so much in your district; allowing them to concentrate on the places still in contention. Now I don’t agree with voting early; at least not until you’ve seen the debates.

There maybe other rules that affect your ability to vote. Be proactive and don’t wait until it’s to late to complain.

With that being said, Al Sharpton continued on to repeat the words of Barack Obama. If you watched the Democratic Nomination Race, millions of Americans voted for Barack Obama. They had the choice to pick a white candidate and they didn’t. This race will be on policy.

That’s coming from the #1 race card benefactor. This is a smart play by Sharpton. He knows until this election in over, he can’t do anything related to race. If he does, he will be placed in the group of blacks inadvertantly hurting Barack Obama by being who they are.

If we can get the majority of blacks to let go of the issue of Race, then we can make some progress. I had this thought as I received Birthday Wishes this weekend. My oldest brother, who is married to a white woman, called. Then my Aunt, who is married to a black man who had kids with a white woman before marrying my Aunt, called. And the day before, I heard from my daughters’ grandfather, who is white. All voting for Barack Obama. All asking me, Why I wasn’t?

I don’t get in to it with family anymore. When you start to ask questions like, how can you talk about white people when you have a baby by a white person. They tend to get upset with you. If you ask them why they refer to all white people as “whitey” until the family shows up and you realize “whitey” is a part of us. But as soon as the party’s over, they go back to being “whitey” in conversation. They tend to want to blame me for paying attention.

Racism doesn’t exist in the same form as the past. We have the right to make choices; succeed or fail on our own merit. And it’s refreshing to hear Al Sharpton echo some actual words of encouragment to that point. Even though I know it won’t last. When the election is over, no matter the outcome, Al Sharpton will be back on the hut to point out Racism. Whether justified or not. That’s his role to play.

I just hope we don’t forget about these words as soon as we get the chance. The next time Sharpton wants us to rally, we actually make sure the fight is justified. Then maybe he’ll be forced to do the same, and we could make a new indent in history. The moment racism stopped being used as an excuse.

Barack Obama and Bill O’Reily; Pt. 2

Everybody remembers the line off of Malcolm X. “Get your hands out my pocket”. It was used as a distraction in the Assasination of Malcolm X. I found parady in that movie. Some of Us continue to blame White People for his death. When more than likely it was Black People that were scared of the Changes he could garner.

Why bring this up talking about Barack and Bill? It’s simple Barack Obama needs to keep his hands off the wallets of Americans.

Bill O’Reily aired part 2 of his interveiw with Barack Obama. The subject was the Economy and Taxation. Everyone can agree we’ve hit some hard times in this Country. I have alot to say about that but I’ll do it in another article. This is About Barack Obama and his plans for the economy.

First let me state, since this interveiw Barack Obama is saying more openly that the tax hikes on the Rich may not be in the best interest of the Country. 1/2 a Kudo. But this under cut his Taxation policy. To implement the Programs he’s calling for, College Tuition, Healthcare; He has to generate more money. He knows he can’t take it from the Rich because that would stop investment, in both the Stock Market and small business.

So where do you think the money will come from? Middle Class beware. Since the Bush Administration has been in office, the tax cuts have produced 20% more Revenue than the Bill Clinton years. When O’Reily pointed this out to Barack Obama, he retorted “That’s because our economy has grown. Not as much as during the Clinton years but we have had economic growth.”

I’m kinda good with numbers so let’s see. In eight years under Clinton we had Economic Growth but the Revenues of the Government were less than Bush Admin. Under Bush we’ve had Economic Growth with less taxes on the Rich and the Government still took in more Money.

I’ll go a little further than that. Bill Clinton deteriorated our Army and faced Sex Scandal. Bush had to deal with a weakening economy when he took office, 9/11, war in Afghanistan, war in Iraq, North Korea, Gas Prices, Mortgage Meltdown, Credit Crisis; and the economy continues to show growth.

Why? Because we are still betting our Country is the best in the World and we are opening businesses. And then there are some of Us who are content with just getting by. As long as I can pay my rent, I’m cool. Then they spend their money of frivoulous things and when something big hits they don’t have the money to take care of it. Then it’s the governments fault they are left exposed.

Then Barack Obama said, to paraphrase, it’s neighborly to give to those less fortunate than you. I agree. But let me keep my money and give it those I see fit. Maybe I don’t want to give a 1/3 or 1/2 a scholarship to everybody. Maybe I want to give a 100% scholarship to some kids that have strived to deserve it. Maybe I want to buy a random Mom on the street a used, but new to her, Car and pay her insurance for a Year. Then she can get back and forth to work, daycare, or volunteering to help others. Why should I let you decide? Isn’t it my money?

This interview with Obama was short. Not much we didn’t already know. Tax the Rich to give to the poor. I’m sorry I’ve got to go. I’m going to write another post now, because I don’t want to Connect Obama to what I’m about to write. I want it independent. Let’s just say, I don’t agree with Barack Obama Economics.

Oh Yeah! Just to point this out, Barack Obama stutters alot when faced with hard questions. Not to say he didn’t handle himself well, but he frustrations shines through. It struck me because this is an issue I’m trying to work on. It tells me that he really believes what he saying. He has a lot of passion for it. Another 1/2 a Kudo.
